AIM is here again!

Am nominated again this year. This time for 'Best Ethnic Pop Album'. Don't think I'm gonna win, though, competition quite stiff...

Visitors

Seems that KE's reputation is getting somewhere. Recently two recognizable guitarists came down to work at KE.

On an extremely rare occasion, I managed to capture Hillary Ang with my camera. Smiling, even! Now for those of you who do not see what the big deal is, Hillary (known to friends as 'John'... don't ask) is the most elusive guitarist in Malaysia having not a single interview done on him, let alone his photo published.

Zua, on the other hand, is not your regular rock star. One would expect a rock star of his stature to have that 'rock star' attitude. On the contrary, this guy is rather humble but musically, he has a clear vision of what he wants. Having him to work in my studio is probably like having Jason Newsted visiting, in strictly Malaysian terms. Zua was the bassist for Malaysia's top metal band, XPDC and now fronts his own outfit, Viper. He has had some success with the latter and was recently been given the opportunity to prepare material for his solo album by yours truly. Wonder who else will be dropping by in the near future...

It's official

To date, 2nd of April 2005 was the best day ever, for me. For obvious reasons, the day was extraordinarily joyous for two families. The ceremony was simple and direct, no frills, no pantuns, no cakap bunga-bunga. My family came, did what they had to do and left (after a sumptous meal, of course!)

Having to adhere to traditions, I had to make myself scarce at a nearby mamak restaurant, sipping on teh-o-ais-limau, calling a couple of friends and amusing myself with my new 'old' Tungsten T. I tell you, that was the fastest one hour in my life.

Later in the afternoon, I made my appearance. The day marked not only our engagement but it was also my fiancee's 26th birthday. I guess no one can top up this year's birthday 'present'. They can try...
