Rockin' New Year!

Ha! Finally, some of you must be saying, dah tukar pun! The new year looks to be a good one. I have discovered that every odd-numbered year is a good one for me. I have no idea why...

7th of January saw my first gig with Mpire as a guitarist. I brought down my Spider half stack and Marshall head along with my trusty KH2 clone and 12-string Godin. We played 5 songs off the new album and one old Terrarossa-XPDC ballad as a medley. The crowd was about 2,000 strong and from the video, we could see that they enjoyed themselves.

The concert was held at the National Stadium car park at Bukit Jalil in conjunction with Agensi Anti-Dadah's Rasa Sayang week-long carnival. Mpire closed the event with a headline showcase which also featured artistes such as Wings, Kristal, Slank and May on previous nights. I can proudly say that we retained the loyalty of old Terrarossa and XPDC fans as well as gained new ones. All in all, the carnival was a success and Mpire is slated be part of the carnival's road tour throughout the year. Stories from the road... now that's worth blogging about...
