How time flies

[Awas! Muatan panjang]

So much has happened since my last entry. The last three weeks have been keeping me up to my ears in activities, both work and non-work related.

The final week of August saw me and my system administrator labouring on setting up a network system for my home and office (that's why I haven't been updating... my PC was offline). All the PCs around the house and my studio are interconnected and equipped with broadband internet. Since I was in the 'mood' for moving things around while laying down the network cables, I remodeled the study on the first floor. Work commenced as usual: the KixBxx thing went well, the JAKIM Hari Raya song was produced with great success (watch for it this Aidilfitri on RTM, ya?) and managed to even squeeze in some video editing for a school's 75-year jubilee.

Not much for the Independence Day celebrations, I entered the new month with writing new songs for Saujana, Saffone, Ideal and X-Factor (met Jim X-Factor at Ikano's food court by chance). Have also begun to write for Indonesia as well (will get back to you really soon, Anti! And so very sorry for the delay!). Maintenance of all the workstations were done to the highest extend to ensure maximum performance of my machines. This alone took most of my time. I also started studying MySQL and PHP to be able to utilize my server to its fullest potential (am having a tough time finishing the course!). Then there's the Audio Engineering Society AGM which, funnily enough, not many members attended. Also, my brother came back for a break. His 8-day stay was jam-packed with retail and gastronomic excursions. Since I only see him, like once or occasionally twice a year, I find it hard to resist another week's break myself. Relaxation was the main objective (the break included NOT going to the gym as well!) which turned out to be quite hectic in the end (don't ask). Saw Puteri Gunung Ledang, brilliant film. Did some recording, music arrangements... minor stuff.

Second week, my brother went back to the UK and I continued redesigning my company's website. I've finally completed the bulk of it. It was rather strenuous since it involved rekindling myself with an old friend: javascript. How things have changed here on Walton's mountain. There are more scripts now than there were when I first got into it almost ten years ago. It is both intimidating and refreshing to see how far web coding has progressed. Made me realized I've missed so much.

I'm currently catching up on my reading. Dr. Kronik's keeping me occupied as well. Don't hold your breath but there might be a new release in the near future featuring yours truly on guitars (finally!). I've done a lot of practising especially with my new instrument. Oh, yeah. I needed another challenge so I picked up this new musical instrument: the Pipa. Let's see what happens next! That's pretty much the gist of it. This week and the next will be packed as well... it's business as usual.
